Hrubá Voda

Hrubá Voda offers family experiences as well as nature- and culture-related attractions. The main highlights include a bobsleigh track designated as a year-round activity, educational and play trails through the forest and landscape, and the Dětský park skřítka Hrubíka. This offering is complemented by the medieval ruins of Hrad Hluboký and the Údolí Bystřice area. This allows you to focus your stay in different ways: on active experiences, discoveries with children, observing nature or exploring the area’s history.

Active Experiences and Family Trails

The bobsleigh track at the Hrubá Voda Resort is designated as a year-round activity. Its total length is 851 m, and speeds of up to 40 km/h are possible on the track. The Kamzíkova stezka offers a different experience at height. The treetop course includes climbing elements, slides and a rope maze 13 m above the ground.

The Naučná stezka skřítka Hrubíka is more than 1 km long and has seven educational and play stations for families with children. The educational trail is accessible year-round and focuses on the surrounding nature, the forest, and the local fauna and flora. In Hrubíkův lesopark, there is also a 2 km-long educational trail that leads downhill to a water park at the end. The trails therefore clearly differ from one another: one combines educational and play stations, while the other covers a longer route with a water park at the end.

Forest, Water and Observation

Hrubíkův lesopark also includes a bird area with wooden observation points. There, children can observe birds in the treetops. The Dětský park skřítka Hrubíka complements the natural area with a paddling pool, a dragon-themed playground and an underground maze. This maze consists of two tunnels named Klára and Libor. The individual areas therefore offer different experiences, so you do not have to limit yourself to just one type of family outing.

The Údolí Bystřice is also important for understanding the landscape. At the southern edge of Hrubá Voda, this area also extends into the left part of the Bystřice Valley. The name therefore refers to a specific valley area and complements the nearby forest and park attractions with another landscape setting.

Historical Context: Hrad Hluboký

Hrad Hluboký is a medieval castle ruin. It was damaged during the siege in 1426 and has been described as abandoned since 1447. When choosing your experiences, this site provides a historical contrast to the playful and nature-oriented attractions around Hrubá Voda. The historical events say nothing about any current visitor or operating regulations.

A Clear Focus on the Resort

If you would like to make the bobsleigh track at the Hrubá Voda Resort the focus of your stay, the location relative to the railway station provides a clear point of reference: the Hrubá Voda railway station is only a short walk from the resort. When choosing accommodation, you can therefore first check whether the area around the resort suits this focus, while the other attractions each retain their own character.
