Horní Loděnice combines a long local history with distinctive landscape and cultural experiences. The Church of St. Isidore is a landmark of the village. At the same time, Sovinecko Nature Park extends into the administrative area, while several cycling routes pass through Horní Loděnice. The Church of St. Isidore and the History of the Village

The present-day Church of St. Isidore was built in the last quarter of the 19th century on the foundations of an earlier church building. Its history is therefore visibly part of a longer local development. Horní Loděnice was first mentioned in a Latin document from 1296. The village’s industrial past is also part of its character: iron ore mines existed in Horní Loděnice from the Middle Ages, including in the middle of what is now the village.

Another testament to local tradition stands on the forest road to Bělkovické údolí. There you will find a brick wayside shrine. Such specific details complement a visit to the church and make the history of Horní Loděnice tangible not only through dates, but also through preserved places and structures. In 2025, the maypole was also erected and felled in Horní Loděnice. The erection and felling of the maypole adds an insight into the village’s more recent present to the older traces of construction and mining.

Nature Park, Stream and Routes through Horní Loděnice

Sovinecko Nature Park extends into the administrative area of Horní Loděnice. The Trusovický potok stream flows through the village from north to south. These two landscape features add a spatial orientation to the village’s history. Looking at Horní Loděnice, the nature park can be assigned to the wider administrative area, while the stream forms a north–south line through the village. Together with the buildings and historical traces, this creates a villagescape in which landscape and history stand side by side.

Cycling routes 6129, 6029 and 6009 run through Horní Loděnice. They use road III/44430 and purpose-built paths. The cross-country skiing terrain complements cycling with a winter activity.

Horní Loděnice is located on road I/46 between Olomouc, Šternberk, Moravský Beroun and Opava.
