The regional bus route 410110 is also a useful reference point for finding your way around the area. It connects Tuřany with Cheb and Sokolov, travelling via Nebanice, Odrava, Okrouhlá, Kynšperk nad Ohří and Libavské Údolí. The route therefore passes through several places between the two cities and complements the cycle route with a bus connection through the region.

Cycle Route 604 Through the Cheb Basin

The long-distance Cycle Route 604 is 28 km long, rated as easy and suitable for road bikes. It runs through the valley of the Šitbořský potok in the Cheb Basin, passes through Tuřany and continues to the “Tuřany statek” farmstead, located about one kilometre beyond the village. When planning your day, you can use the 28-kilometre distance and easy rating as a manageable framework. The route leads from the valley via Tuřany to the farmstead, combining landscape, village and rural architectural heritage.

A Cheb Farmhouse with a Remarkable Design

Farmstead No. 3 in Tuřany is dated to 1854 and preserves the four basic components of a Cheb farmhouse: the residential building, granary, barn and stables. The residential section is particularly revealing. Its ground floor is built using log construction, with a half-timbered upper floor above it. The gable is richly structured in a chequerboard pattern. Those interested in regional architecture can therefore observe the interplay of several building elements here: the complete farmstead layout as well as the distinctive construction and design of the residential building.

A Chapel and Cultural Monument in Tuřany and Lipoltov

The chapel in Tuřany is one of the oldest and most interesting monuments in the village. It dates from before 1782 and is a sacred building with a rectangular floor plan and a three-sided termination on the western side. In Lipoltov, part of the municipality of Tuřany, Farmstead No. 1 is another historic point of interest. It is registered as an immovable cultural monument under registration number 17495/4-147. The chapel and Farmstead No. 1 therefore represent different areas of architectural heritage: a sacred building in Tuřany on the one hand and an immovable cultural monument in Lipoltov on the other.

Masopust as a Regional Tradition

The cultural features of Tuřany include revived Masopust processions. They are part of the traditional folk culture of the Karlovy Vary Region. This focus complements the architectural sights with a custom that is not tied to a single building.
