Nature experience in the Perninské rašeliniště

The Perninské rašeliniště is one of the largest peat bogs in the Czech Republic and has been protected since 1953 because of its unique flora and fauna. In the southern part, a nature trail leads around a peat pond to a viewing pavilion. This gives the landscape a clear focus for anyone who wants to combine their stay with a nature experience.

The Perninská Krušnohornická stezka is just under 14 kilometres long. It can be divided into three shorter circular routes and has 17 information boards. Cycling on several routes

Local cycling route No. 2000 is 20 kilometres long and classified as easy. It passes through Pernink, Pajndl, Tisová, Nové Hamry, Chaloupky and Rolava. Other routes have different focuses: The Abertamské zastavené cycling route starts in Pernink, leads to Abertamy and returns to Pernink via Bludná and Horní Blatná. The Horská trasa is 27.5 kilometres long, starts and ends in Pernink, and uses sections of the Euro Egrensis 2198 route and the Jelení stezka 23. Karlova stezka also starts in Pernink and leads via Horní Blatná to Vlčí hora. The different lengths and routes make it easier to choose according to the desired length of the day.

Historic places and the mountain railway

The Church of the Most Holy Trinity in Pernink is a listed church whose construction began in 1714. The Kontribučenská sýpka is a listed building from the 17th century. It was built in accordance with a Josephine regulation for storing grain reserves for times of famine. The Krušnohorský semmering is also of interest when planning your arrival and excursions: This 46-kilometre mountain railway runs from Karlovy Vary to Potůčky, with some trains continuing to Johanngeorgenstadt. At 902 metres above sea level, Pernink is the highest railway station on this route.

Winter and local history

The Velflink ski area in Pernink has three ski lifts, an equipment rental service, ski courses, snowboarding options, a beginners' lift and storage facilities. The original Lesopark forest park offers a different insight into the history of the town: It was created at the end of the 19th century, and a network of original paths is still visible and in use there today.
