Forests, floodplain and Milíř Hill

However, the tower is closed until further notice; its technical condition and a reconstruction planned for summer 2026 are the reasons. The Opatovický Canal as a cultural monument of the landscape

The Opatovický Canal was built at Opatovický splav in 1513; it is 35 km long. Its history can also be illustrated by the number of former mills: over time, 32 mills were built along the Opatovický Canal. The canal therefore represents not just a single structure, but a cultural landscape developed over a longer period. Memorial sites and sports complex

In Vysoká nad Labem, a memorial plaque commemorates the parachute group BARIUM’s drop on 3 April 1944. The plaque was unveiled on 17 October 1993. A memorial financed by the municipality was also erected at the site of the tragedy in 1947, where these events are regularly commemorated. The two references give the local history a specific temporal and personal dimension.

For an active change of pace, there is the Vysoká nad Labem sports complex with a grass football pitch, a beach volleyball court, a skate park and a workout area. Use of the sports facilities is subject to a fee; reservations are made electronically.
