Zduchovice: Altánek viewpoint and cycle routes

Zduchovice combines impressive views of the Vltava with clearly described paths, two cycle routes of different lengths, and cultural and sporting attractions. The Altánek viewpoint, the route through several places in the Povltaví region, and Zduchovice Château offer various ways to experience your stay. This allows you to choose between scenic experiences, a cycling tour, culture and events, without reducing the village to just one attraction.

Altánek: rocky promontory above the Vltava

The Altánek viewpoint is located on the Zduchovické skály in the cadastral area of the municipality of Zduchovice. The rocky promontory is situated approximately 200 m above the Vltava. From there, you can look out over the central Povltaví region; you can also see a meander of the Vltava and the Na Podkově peninsula.

The route to the viewpoint

The route to Altánek begins at the bus stop on the village square. It initially follows an asphalt road, then continues along a forest path and a wider forest track. For the final section, you can choose between a staircase and an older narrow forest path. The two final routes to Altánek lead steeply downhill and are slippery. The transition from road to forest and the steep final section give the route a clearly tiered structure, which is important for orientation. This sequence of route sections is more important for finding your way than a general description of the excursion.

Cycling on two routes of different lengths

For a shorter loop, Cycle Route No. 1 leads from Zduchovice via Luhy to Dolní Hbity and is 6.3 km long. Cycle Route No. 2 is considerably longer at 36 km and runs from Zduchovice via Smolotely, Bohostice, Solenice, Milešov and Krásná Hora to Kamýk nad Vltavou. The two routes therefore offer a clear choice between a short connection and a longer route through several places. The 6.3 kilometres of the first route and the 36 kilometres of the second provide a practical basis for planning a shorter or more extensive cycling tour.

Culture and equestrian events

Jan Novák laid out a park at Zduchovice Château. This historical connection adds a cultural aspect to the scenic experiences. The Jezdecké centrum Resort Zduchovice is also located on the outskirts of the municipality of Zduchovice in the Povltaví landscape. The Jezdecký areál Zduchovice organises national and international equestrian tournaments. The centre offers tailored sports stays and activities, including horse training, sports weekends, yoga and cycling camps.

Practical information for Zduchovice

In Zduchovice, parking is permitted only in designated areas and along the sides of the roads. A recurring event in the local calendar is Běh do Bukovce, which is held for children and parents on Easter Sunday.
