The Velké Popovice brewery was founded in 1874. Its historic section is designated a national cultural monument. The brewery is therefore one of the defining cultural features of the town. The Velkopopovický Kozel brewery visitor centre can be reached by train on line S9 to Strančice, followed by connecting bus 461 to Velké Popovice. The journey from Prague city centre takes approximately 45 minutes.

The Church of Our Lady of the Snows also reaches far back into the history of the town. It has a bell dating from 1498, considered the second-oldest in Central Bohemia. Together with the brewery, it creates a cultural tour through different periods: industrial tradition stands alongside a historic religious building and its remarkable detail.

Velkopopovicko Nature Park

The Velkopopovicko Nature Park covers 22 km² and was designated in 1993 to preserve the character of the landscape with its distinctive natural and aesthetic values. Its areas consist predominantly of forests, meadows, pastures, fallow land, rubble areas, wetlands and bodies of water. The nature park is used for recreation and sports.

The northern boundary of the Velkopopovicko Nature Park is formed by Ringhoferova, Pivovarská and then Masarykova streets in Velké Popovice. Circular Route and Cycle Path

The “Kapličky a zvoničky Velkopopovicka” circular route runs through the cadastral area of Velké Popovice, mostly through its local districts. In each district, you can stop at a chapel or bell tower. The route is 10 km long and runs mostly along paved roads. Its length and surface provide a specific basis if you want to combine a culturally oriented tour with physical activity during your stay.

Cycle path 0028 crosses the outskirts of Velké Popovice. The 18-km route runs from Pyšely to Dobřejovice. This provides two differently long options for orientation: the circular route stays within the cadastral area and connects local districts with chapels and bell towers, while cycle path 0028 places Velké Popovice on a route between Pyšely and Dobřejovice.
