Rybníky – Hiking along the Kocába and distinctive architecture

Rybníky combines a watercourse flowing through the village with marked hiking trails and remarkable sacred buildings.

Watercourse and marked hiking trails

The Kocába watercourse flows through Rybníky. A red-marked hiking trail runs along the western edge of the administrative area. It leads from Strž near Stará Huť and the Karel Čapek Memorial via Budínek and Budín to Daleké Dušníky and on to Nečín.

A second, yellow-marked hiking trail leads from Dobříš through Josefovo údolí into the administrative area of Rybníky. It then continues northeast through the Kocába valley. The two trails therefore already differ in their described routes: the red trail connects several places and the Karel Čapek Memorial, while the yellow trail connects the Kocába valley with access via Dobříš.

Both marked hiking trails are designated as spatially secured within the municipality of Rybníky. This information provides you with a clear basis when comparing different routes for your trip planning, without assessing the trails according to unsubstantiated criteria such as duration or difficulty.

Chapels and churches with distinctive character

The Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary is a compact building with a rectangular floor plan and a polygonal presbytery. Its design is rich in Rondocubist forms. The chapel is located at the western edge of the cadastral area and municipality of Rybníky; physically, it stands at the eastern edge of Budínek on the road between Budínek and Rybníky.

The protected property comprises the Chapel of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary, a cast-iron cross standing west of the chapel, and the associated land. The precise description of the location and the components of the protected property also make the building interesting for visitors who seek architectural details rather than large complexes along their route.

The Chapel of St. John of Nepomuk is also located in Rybníky. Regular services are not held there. If you wish to include religious services in your planning, you should therefore not plan this place as a regular place of worship.

The Rybníky Evangelical Church was built in 1847 and ceremonially opened on September 28 of the same year. The building is designed in the Neoclassical style and has a small tower and a barrel-vaulted roof. Thus, sacred buildings with different forms and dates of origin stand side by side in Rybníky.

Rybníky is served by regular bus route 303 054 (D54) between Dobříš, Drevníky, and Županovice. Road II/119 is the most important road connection from Dobříš southeast into the cadastral area of Rybníky. Together with the two marked hiking trails, this provides a factual basis for planning your arrival and excursions.
