Historical Sites and Regional Culture

A notable historical reference is the Baroque Valdštejn Hunting Lodge in Maníkovice, in the cadastral area of Ptýrov. It was built in 1711 and is protected as a cultural monument. This places a specific site with a Baroque history alongside the landscape at the center of attention. In Ptýrov itself, the chapel was restored in 1992 and consecrated at a ceremony on July 11. These two sites give the trip a cultural focus that can be combined with landscape and activity themes. The hunting lodge and the chapel differ both in age and in their geographical connection: the former is located in Maníkovice in the cadastral area of Ptýrov, while the latter is in Ptýrov itself. Those interested in regional history will therefore find different chronological and geographical points of reference rather than just one architectural monument.

Rock Walls, Oaks and a Challenging Access Route

The Skalní sruby Jizery feature significant rock walls and two lateral niches created by the lateral erosion of the Jizera. Beneath them lies the most geomorphologically distinctive pseudokarstic niche of the Jizera. The rock walls and niches give this part of the landscape its own geological character, while the Maníkovické duby add another natural highlight. These remarkable pedunculate oaks stand as a group in Maníkovice. Please note that access to the Skalní sruby Jizery can be very difficult during the growing season. When planning an excursion, this limitation is therefore just as much a part of the nature experience as the unusual shape of the rocks.

Cycle Path and Equestrian Sports

The marked Greenway Jizera cycle path runs from Mnichovo Hradiště past the Ptýrov weir and onward to Veselá and Lhotice. When planning your own route, you can therefore connect Ptýrov with Mnichovo Hradiště, Veselá and Lhotice. Another focus is Farma Ptýrov. It is an equestrian center with two outdoor riding arenas, an indoor arena, a lungeing circle and a horse carousel. Farma Ptýrov hosts national and international show-jumping competitions, national championships, Hubertus rides and events for children. The facilities range from open-air arenas to the covered hall, while the events include competitive sport, traditional rides and activities for children.

Czech Cuisine in Ptýrov

Ptýrov also has a clear culinary attraction: the Farma Ptýrov restaurant specializes in modern Czech cuisine. Steaks and international specialties are also served there.
