Neumětely: Church, Šemík Monument and Hiking Trail

Neumětely combines traces of cultural history with an unusual local tradition and a marked hiking route. Parish Church of St. Peter and Paul

The listed parish Church of St. Peter and Paul was built in the 14th century. Its Gothic core has been preserved, while the church was remodeled in the Baroque style in the mid-18th century. Šemík Between Monument and Tradition

The Šemík Monument is a cenotaph in the form of an ancient temple in the historicist Neoclassical style. It was erected in 1887. At the cenotaph, the ancient temple form and the historicist Neoclassical style can be viewed together directly. The listed structure stands in a small park behind the cemetery by the road, giving it a precisely described, distinct location. The combination of its construction, manageable dimensions and clearly limited use makes the bell tower a particularly vivid historical detail.

Hiking Trail and Earlier Traces

A red-marked hiking trail leads from Neumětely towards Želkovice and Málkov. This allows you to supplement your exploration of the village with a hike without losing sight of its cultural themes. The castle-site area adds traces of an earlier fortification to the visit. The hiking trail also provides an active outdoor section. Another historical detail is the circular castle-site area. It was formerly surrounded by water and ramparts on all sides and had a diameter of approximately 45 meters.
