On 6 June 2026, Velký Chlumec hosted a children's day for children and their parents. A 3.5-kilometre forest trail between Velký Chlumec and Malý Chlumec was used for the event. Along the trail, there were stations with tasks involving fruit and vegetables; the route was designed for children of all ages and their parents. The Studený vrch lookout tower stands in the surroundings of Velký Chlumec. It was built in 1942, is 17.5 metres high and offers views towards Prague, Karlštejn and the Brdy ridges. From Velký Chlumec, the lookout tower can only be reached on foot or by bicycle. The car must be left in the forest before continuing the ascent on foot. You should take this feature into account if the lookout tower is part of your outing plan. The final section therefore also matters when planning: after leaving the car, you continue the ascent on foot, while the tower opens up views towards Prague, Karlštejn and the Brdy ridges.
