Mšeno: Rock Labyrinth, Městské lázně and Historic Townscapes

Mšeno combines a distinctive rocky landscape with a multifaceted townscape. The Cinibulkova Trail leads through the Bludiště Rock Labyrinth. In the town, the Městské lázně, preserved residential buildings and historic urban spaces meet the complex of the Church of St. Martin. This creates a varied combination of a circular trail, recreation, landscape and architectural history for travel planning.

Cinibulkova Trail and Rocky Landscape

The Cinibulkova educational trail begins at the Městské lázně in Mšeno and returns to Mšeno after a 9 km circular route. The walk along the Cinibulkova Trail takes approximately three hours. This approximate duration helps you plan the walk as a fixed part of the day's itinerary. The rock labyrinth and the Mšenské Pokličky offer different highlights, ranging from rock formations to the trail experience. The Mšenské Pokličky, a distinctive geological formation area, are also located near the Cinibulkova Trail.

Městské lázně and Recreation

The Městské lázně in Mšeno are an Art Deco building constructed in 1932. The complex is used for recreation; its water from a rock spring provides cooling even in the hottest summer. Alongside the circular trail, Mšeno therefore offers a clearly defined place for a more relaxed day. The combination of Art Deco architecture and rock spring water makes the Městské lázně interesting both as a building and as a place of recreation.

Historic Townscape and the Church of St. Martin

Numerous two-storey log and half-timbered houses have been preserved in Mšeno to this day, particularly on the outskirts of the town. Late Classicist and historicist rows of buildings continue to shape the appearance of Mšeno's most important urban spaces. The complex of the Church of St. Martin is situated on a low rise in the middle of the sloping triangular Komenského náměstí, opposite the deanery building. The church was originally fortified. Its complex included a surrounding wall, bastions, a gate with a drawbridge and a moat; remnants of the wall still survive today. The preserved houses and the prominent location of the church complex make the townscape worth experiencing even beyond the hiking trails.

The Surroundings of Mšeno

Starý Berštejn is a ruin in the surroundings of Mšeno. Nedvězí [Dubá-Dražejov], Hořice and Berkovský vrch are mountains in the surroundings of Mšeno. Lysá is a mountain in the wider region around Mšeno. Also located in the wider region are Ostrov Chateau, a castle, as well as U Svatého Vojtěcha and Svatý Jiří, both churches.

Tourist Information

The Mšeno Tourist Information Centre is located in the library at the town hall at nám. Míru 1 and provides tourist information, maps and regional publications.
