Mořinka – Nature, Trails and Cultural History in the Český kras

Mořinka is a Czech destination for anyone who wants to combine landscape, history and trails. Its main attractions include protected nature, sites of cultural and historical significance, and an educational trail connecting several stops between Dobřichovice, Karlík, Mořinka and Karlštejn. For orientation, this means that the landscape is not merely a backdrop for individual excursions, but an important part of the character of the place.

One of the site's distinctive natural and cultural features is the Lípa v Mořince. Since December 2019, it has been a protected memorial tree and is the oldest linden tree growing on Mořinka's village green. Its specific location on the village green makes the tree a visible part of the local setting, while its protected status records its special importance.

Educational Trail, Viewpoint and Longer Routes

The Cesta císařovny Elišky educational trail leads from Dobřichovice via Karlík and Mořinka to Karlštejn. It is approximately ten kilometres long and introduces visitors to the history of the local places and the surrounding nature. This allows you to choose a route that brings local history and landscape together under one theme without separating the two.

The menhir offers a view of the whole of Mořinka and the surrounding area. This viewpoint adds a spatial perspective of the place to the trail and landscape experience. A much more extensive route is the Všerubská svatojakubská cesta: it leads from Prague to the border between the Czech Republic and Germany, the so-called Všerubský sedlo, where it connects with the East Bavarian Way of St. James.

Castle Ruins and Rural Religious Architecture

The remains of Karlík Castle are located within the municipal area of Mořinka. They represent the historical dimension of the municipality, while the Kaplička sv. Pauluse provides a different accent. The Kaplička sv. Pauluse is a small rural religious building from the last third of the 19th century and stands in the western part of Mořinka's village green. Thus, different historical traces stand side by side in the local setting: castle ruins within the municipal area and a clearly located religious building on the village green.
