Novy Hrozenkov – Water, Culture and Trails in Valašsko

Novy Hrozenkov appeals to travellers who do not want to limit their stay to just one type of holiday. Water activities, regional history, traditional production and trails of varying difficulty are all distinctive themes in their own right. Na Stanoch: Lake, Beaches and an Unusual Jumping Ramp

The Na Stanoch natural swimming area centres on a 9.5-hectare artificial lake. The site offers grass and sandy beaches, changing rooms, showers and toilets. A children's playground and a beach volleyball court add to the facilities, giving families and active travellers different ways to enjoy their time by the water.

Another notable feature is an artificial ramp for acrobatic water jumps on skis and boards. Alongside the traditional experience of spending time at a lake, this provides a much more specialised form of water sport. The different elements of the site make Na Stanoch a distinct recreational area: you can combine a quieter day at the beach with an unusual sporting attraction without the two offerings promising the same thing.

Culture and Regional Tradition

The Antonín Strnadl Memorial is housed in a characteristic Valašsko log cabin dating from 1835. The building itself provides a tangible connection to the region's architectural and cultural history. Another exhibition presents mountain pastures where sheep have been kept for generations, as well as original, in some cases unique, and now almost forgotten tools used in mountain farming. This gives you access to a landscape that can be understood not only as a natural environment, but also through its forms of work and ways of life.

Culinary traditions are also tangible: at the Nový Hrozenkov Information Centre, you can book guided tours of the traditional production of sheep's cheese. This is not merely an idea for a tasting, but a tour focused on a specific production process. Circular Routes, Ravines and Ski Slopes

For walks, cycling trips and outings with children, the brochures From Hrozenkov to Hrozenkov are available. They offer seven circular routes of varying lengths and difficulty for walkers, cyclists and families with children. The selection is therefore not limited to a single type of route. Depending on your preferred daily itinerary, you can choose between different lengths and levels of difficulty.

The Rokling route collection offers a different experience of the landscape. It includes 20 ravine or stream-bed routes in the surrounding area, four of them directly in Nový Hrozenkov. The term describes a distinct route focus and differentiates these paths from ordinary circular hikes.

For a trip with a different seasonal focus, the Nový Hrozenkov–Vranča ski area is relevant. It lies at an altitude of 500 to 670 metres and offers eight ski slopes with a total length of 5.8 kilometres.
