Accommodation in Stropešín
On the right bank of the Dalešice Reservoir
Stropešín lies on the right bank of the Dalešice Reservoir. The waterscape, bridge, local history, and paths to viewpoints and neighboring places shape orientation in the area. The character of the municipality is reflected in several specific landmarks: the Stropešínský most, the Třesov landing stage, the chapel, and traces of human settlement dating far back before today’s reservoir landscape.
Bridge and local history
The Stropešínský most is 260 meters long. Its reinforced-concrete structure comprises three bridge spans and is supported by two piers. The bridge was built in 1979, making it part of a considerably more recent historical layer than the first written references to the settlement and the Neolithic finds. Its length and clearly structured design make it a distinctive structure at the Dalešice Reservoir.
The settlement was first mentioned in writing in 1125 under the historical name Strupišin. Neolithic settlement in Stropešín is documented by finds of polished stone tools. The local history thus extends from traces of the Neolithic period through the first medieval written reference to a structure from the late 20th century.
A local chapel probably dates from the second half of the 19th century. It forms a distinctive landmark of the municipality of Stropešín and adds another historical reference point to the older settlement traces and the more recent bridge.
The municipality included the hamlet of Stropešínský mlýn, with a sawmill on the Jihlávka River. This connection to the river is also part of the recorded local history and broadens the picture of the municipality beyond its immediate location on the reservoir shore.
Boating, hiking, cycling, and viewpoints
The Třesov landing stage serves as a place for boarding and disembarking. From there, boat trips can be combined with hikes or cycling tours on both sides of the Dalešice Reservoir.
The Třesov landing stage is located near the Stropešínský most between Třesov and Stropešín. This locational relationship is crucial for orientation around the lake: the landing stage is designated by Třesov, while the bridge’s name establishes its connection with Stropešín.
From Stropešín, a detour of approximately 500 meters to the Stropešínská vyhlídka viewpoint at the Dalešice Reservoir is also recommended. The detour complements boat trips as well as hikes and cycling tours at the reservoir with a short path to a viewpoint.
As another connection in the surrounding area, Route 5107 leads from Stropešín to Dalešice. Thus, local orientation includes not only routes along the reservoir but also connections between neighboring places.
Practical orientation in the area
