Doksany Between Monastic History and Floodplain Landscape

Doksany combines an exceptionally multifaceted monastic history with a protected natural area. The monastery was founded in 1144–1145 as a Premonstratensian convent. The Loužek Nature Reserve is also recorded in the cadastral area of Doksany. Doksany Monastery and Its Romanesque Traces

Loužek Nature Reserve and Practical Information

The Loužek Nature Reserve protects mixed floodplain forests along major rivers. It also protects the cinnabar jewel beetle (Cucujus cinnaberinus).
