Traveling on the Čejč–Uhřice experience railway

The Čejč–Uhřice experience railway offers family rides on the historic M240 railcar. For children, it is not just about looking out of the window: during the journey, they can look into the driver’s cab and have their picture taken at the controls in the station. This gives the railway ride a tangible experiential character that is also appealing to families with different interests.

The railway park of the Čejč–Uhřice experience railway includes bouncy castles, a small chain carousel, creative activities, a model railway, and a sand-play and ball-play area. The individual sections focus on different activities and complement the railcar ride with play, creativity and railway themes. Those who want to combine several child-friendly activities in one day will therefore find more here than just a single ride.

Water attractions and practical information

Uhřice Aquapark has a swimming pool with one lane for fitness swimming, a children’s paddling pool, a slide and two additional water slides. There are also massage benches, jets and loungers, water spouts, a water wall, and a volleyball court for Kč 100 per hour. This provides both a designated area for children and opportunities for swimming and other water-based activities.

For visitors with limited mobility, it is noted that the aquapark is equipped with a lifting device that provides access to the swimming pool. Another small outdoor discovery is Studánka na Romenově. It is easily accessible from the road via a paved footpath.

Church, art and traces of the past

The Church of St. John the Baptist in Uhřice is a Gothic-Renaissance building from the first half of the 14th century. Inside is a clay tabernacle that experts consider to be Habán work from the late 16th or early 17th century. Beneath the floor in the center of the church there is also a presumably vaulted crypt with a square floor plan and allegedly four-meter-long sides. It is said to contain three coffins, as well as the remains of a cross and a rosary. It is precisely these different historical layers that make the church a place where architectural history and transmitted details come together.

On the village square in Uhřice, opposite house number 99, stands a high-quality Rococo sculpture of Saint John of Nepomuk. It was probably created in the third quarter of the 18th century in the art workshop of O. Schweigl. Another historical point of reference is the “Setkání dvou císařů” memorial. It commemorates the meeting of Napoleon I Bonaparte with Francis I of Austria on December 4, 1805, after the Battle of Slavkov.

An obelisk stands on the memorial grounds, surrounded by four linden trees. At the entrance to the grounds from Janův Dvůr, an information board with maps of the surrounding area and a plan of the battlefield between Brno and Slavkov was installed in 2002. This makes the memorial site and its historical context spatially comprehensible as well, without reducing the memorial to a single monument.
