The Church of the Beheading of St. John the Baptist is preserved as a protected monument ensemble. The ensemble includes an enclosing wall, two gates and the grounds of the defined area. The listed cemetery also contains several noteworthy elements. The sandstone cross is a cultural monument and stands as the central cross on the axis of the access path to the Chapel of St. Barbara. The chapel itself was built in 1689; its shingle roof continues to be maintained. This means that within a compact thematic area, you can encounter both an individual cultural monument and a historic religious building with an architectural detail that is still carefully maintained.

The “Památník Jana Amose Komenského” Memorial stands on the site where the assembly of the Bohemian Brethren once took place. The connection to Jan Amos Komenský dates back to 1616: at a synod held in Žeravice, the then 24-year-old Jan Amos Komenský was ordained a priest. The memorial also includes an exhibition of folk art and traditional crafts.

This visit requires a different form of preparation than the church: visits to the memorial can be arranged in advance with the Žeravice municipal office. This makes it possible to combine the site's historical focus with a specific exhibition rather than limiting the visit to a single monument.

Wine Tasting and Cycling

The regional side of Žeravice includes Vinařství Žůrek. The winery offers year-round wine tastings in its cellar on the outskirts of Žeravice. The tastings usually begin with 10 to 12 samples of its own wines. This makes the cellar a clearly defined stop for anyone who wants to combine their stay with wine and regional craft or culinary culture.

For active days, the Bzenecká vinařská stezka is suitable for gravel, trekking, road and electric bicycles. The climbs around Žeravice offer views from lookout towers over orchards and vineyards.
