Rozsíčka – Village Culture between Valley and Cultural Heritage

Rozsíčka is an oval-shaped village on the road from Olešnice via Sulíkov and Rudka to Kunštát. Its character is shaped by the interplay of the valley landscape, village architecture, prominent buildings and paths through the surrounding area. Valley, Nature Park and Landscape

Rozsíčka lies in the valley of the Rozsíčský potok. The Crhov–Rozsíčka Site of Community Importance is also located in a stream valley between Rozsíčka and Crhov. This precise location presents the landscape not as an abstract natural setting, but as an area directly connected with the village and neighboring Crhov. The Halasovo Kunštátsko Nature Park includes the cadastral area or parts of the cadastral area of Rozsíčka, providing another important framework for understanding the village’s setting.

To the west of Rozsíčka rises Kamperk, with an elevation of 640 m. This allows you to understand the area through several landscape features: the stream valley, the stream valley between Rozsíčka and Crhov, and the elevation west of the village. Rozsíčka has local cycling routes and marked hiking trails. Castle, Bell Tower and Village Architecture

A particularly distinctive architectural landmark is Rozsíčka Castle. It was built in 1828 in the Empire style and has retained its basic form to this day. The building has six bays and one storey. Its southeast entrance façade is emphasized by a two-bay avant-corps, a projecting section that structures the façade. The castle is privately owned. For planning your visit, it should therefore primarily be regarded as a defining building in the village’s history; the description of the building does not indicate whether the interior can currently be visited.

The Rozsíčka bell tower is a cultural monument and at the same time a defining spatial element of the village square. Its square floor plan and the helmet roof dating from the late 18th century give it a clearly recognizable historic appearance. Together with the castle, the bell tower offers a second, distinctly different way of engaging with the village’s history: here, the focus is not the representative architecture of an Empire-style building, but a structure that defines the public space of the village square.

Preserved and well-maintained examples of vernacular architecture, including log buildings, provide further insight into the local character. Rozsíčka also has a chapel in a prominent location. These features are particularly well suited to a leisurely exploration of the village, in which not only individual historic buildings but also building forms and the spatial impression of the place matter.

Hiking, Cycling and Staying with Children

The marked hiking trails and local cycling routes also make Rozsíčka an attractive destination for a more active stay. At the upper end of the village there is a recreation area and a playground.
