Rašovice: Nature, Trails and Regional Experiences

Rašovice is a worthwhile destination for anyone who wants to combine nature experiences, brief cultural discoveries and regional traditions. West of the village lies the Rašovický zlom – Chobot Nature Reserve, the Mušenice Nature Reserve is located to the south, and the Žlíbek Natural Monument to the east. Rašovice is situated in the immediate vicinity of Ždánický les.

Protected Nature around Rašovice

The Rašovický zlom – Chobot Nature Reserve protects thermophilous plant communities of the Pontic-Pannonian type as well as wild animals. Mušenice and Žlíbek also preserve such thermophilous plant communities and habitats for wild animals, especially amphibians.

The Rašovický stream flows through Rašovice. It rises in the Rokle municipal forest and in the Hrček spring area. Marked hiking trails also pass through Rašovice, making it possible to explore the surrounding area on foot.

Chapel, Staircase and Historical Details

A prominent cultural landmark is the filial chapel of Saints Cyril and Methodius. It was built between 1865 and 1869 and consecrated on 19 October 1869. A large staircase leads from Rašovice to the chapel. The visit is therefore connected not only with a single building, but also with a clearly recognizable path from the village up to the landmark.

A statue of Saint Florian, dating from the second quarter of the 18th century, also stands near the chapel. This area therefore offers a distinct accent for an excursion with varied interests, alongside the nature themes: the landscape and trails are complemented by a historic building and an older sacred work of art.

Cycling and Hiking in the Region

Cycle Route 5098 passes through Rašovice. On forest roads, it forms a 7.7-kilometre connection towards the long-distance route along the ridge of Ždánický les. This provides a specific route length for planning a cycling trip, while the marked hiking trails offer a different way of exploring the area.

Local Events and Regional Cuisine

Dožatá combines an exhibition of products with various workshops and other activities. These also include themed tastings of food. This makes the event a distinctive regional experience in its own right, bringing together products, hands-on activities and culinary impressions.

The Rašovický Goulash Festival also continued in 2026. The first goulash festival took place on 30 August 2025 at Sokolka. At the Rašovický Goulash Festival, competing goulash dishes are cooked in cauldrons and offered to the public for tasting. Anyone who wants to get to know Rašovice not only through nature and culture but also through local traditions will find a clearly different focus here than on a hike or cycling tour.
