Pasohlávky

Pasohlávky combines a waterscape at the Novomlýnské reservoirs with cycle paths, archaeological traces of the Romans and the thermal facilities of Aqualand Moravia. This allows you to shape your stay in different ways: with a ride along the water, an exploration of the Roman past, a walk through an important bird protection area or a visit to the water and sauna world.

Promenade and cycle path for active excursions

A particularly practical starting point for exploring Pasohlávky is the 1.7 km-long promenade. It connects the municipality with the ATC Merkur campsite and the lagoons of the Horní Novomlýnská reservoir. The route is intended for pedestrians, cyclists and inline skaters. This offers various ways to experience the waterside landscape at your own pace, without having to commit to just one mode of transport.

For longer cycling tours, the almost 170 km-long Brno–Vienna cycle path runs through Pasohlávky. Its route lies away from heavily trafficked roads and uses separate cycle paths or lightly trafficked Class III roads. The two cycling options differ in scale: the promenade provides access to the surroundings of the municipality, campsite and lagoons over 1.7 kilometres, while Pasohlávky is part of a much longer route on the almost 170-kilometre Brno–Vienna connection. Separate cycle paths or lightly trafficked Class III roads are used for the route; heavily trafficked roads are avoided.

Roman History Around Mušov

The Mušov Visitor Centre focuses on the historical circumstances surrounding the construction of the Roman fortress at Hradisko near Mušov. Multimedia presentations and traditional display cases with archaeological finds also show traces of the Roman presence in this area. From the visitor centre, you can follow the “Mušov – Gateway to the Roman Empire” educational trail. It leads to the most important archaeological sites on Hradisko.

The Mušov Visitor Centre can be reached from Pasohlávky via the local road towards ATC Merkur Pasohlávky and Aqualand Moravia. The annual thematic programme also includes the Roman-Barbarian festival Germania subacta, which takes place every year on the first weekend of September. This allows a stay focused on culture to be combined with a specific event and an educational trail.

Věstonická Reservoir and Bird Protection Area

The Věstonická Reservoir educational trail begins at the Pasohlávky–Mušov dam and runs along the middle Novomlýnský reservoir. This is an important bird protection area.

Thermal Water, Slides and Sauna

Aqualand Moravia in Pasohlávky fills most of its indoor and outdoor pools with natural water from a thermal borehole. This borehole has been recognised as a natural healing spring. The facilities include 20 water slides and a sauna world with treatments. A special seasonal fact is the Riviéra outdoor pool: its water remains above 30 °C even in winter.
