Luleč – Educational Trail, Natural Swimming Pool and Cultural Monuments

Luleč combines an educational trail through the municipality with a natural swimming pool in a flooded quarry and several protected cultural monuments. This creates a destination where you can explore the landscape, local history and archaeological traces in different ways.

Educational Trail and Landscape around Luleč

The “Naučná stezka Luleč” educational trail runs through the cadastral area of Luleč and is divided into two sections. A total of 22 information boards provide information along the trail. The eastern section leads through the Kopaniny holiday-home area and across the grounds of the “kostel sv. Martina” church. The educational trail therefore connects different facets of the locality without requiring its two sections to be presented as a single circular route.

The “U Libuše” natural swimming pool offers its own contrast of landscape and bathing. It is located in a flooded quarry that was converted into a natural swimming pool in the 1930s. The total area is 6,400 m². The public transport stop listed for the natural swimming pool is “Luleč, obecní úřad”.

A green-marked tourist route also runs north of Luleč from Vyškov via Drnovice and Ježkovice to Ruprechtov. It continues into the Moravian Karst. For planning a more active trip, this route therefore offers a broader landscape context extending beyond Luleč; at the same time, the educational trail remains the discovery route most directly connected with the locality.

Churches, Stations of the Cross and Historical Traces

The “kostel sv. Martina” church in Luleč is a protected cultural monument. The present Baroque church was built in 1751–1753 on the site of an older Gothic church. Above the municipality, the “Křížová cesta Luleč” Stations of the Cross leads to this church. Its stations consist of thirteen niche chapels and a Holy Sepulchre. The Stations of the Cross can therefore be viewed as a distinct cultural and historical focus, while the church itself reveals its building history across several eras.

Another protected cultural monument is the Baroque branch church “kostel sv. Isidora”. It was created in 1739–1741 by an extensive reconstruction of an older chapel. Luleč Castle is also designated as a protected cultural monument in Luleč. For a trip focused on architecture and local history, this provides several different historical themes: an older church site with a Baroque rebuilding phase, a branch church developed from a chapel, and a protected castle.

The “Svatý Martin, Starý zámek” archaeological site includes a hilltop settlement designated as a significant archaeological locality, a fortification, burial site, castle and an unspecified complex. The site also includes a 55-hectare prehistoric hillfort with sections of a double fortification. Three parallel ramparts have been preserved on its southern side. At the castle on the site, a very well-preserved ring wall and ditch, as well as isolated remains of stone walls, survive. These details give local history a visible archaeological dimension without equating the site with a currently accessible museum or sightseeing attraction.
