Chateau and church with a layered history

Zámek Diváky is a late Baroque building by František Antonín Grimm, an important Baroque architect. As a state-protected cultural monument, the building is registered under number 30427/7-1191. The Church of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary was built between 1873 and 1875 in the style of historicist Romanticism. Its design is characterized by Renaissance and Baroque elements. The building resulted from the reconstruction of an older church dating from before 1601. The church is also mentioned in records from 1287 and 1351. This makes it possible to read different periods of the village’s history in a single religious building, without equating its present form with the older structure.

The Mrštík legacy in the family home

The Památník bratří Mrštíků is located in the family home in Diváky, where Alois and Vilém Mrštík lived. Five rooms and the garden are open to visitors. Audiovisual presentations featuring members of the Mrštík family accompany visitors through the rooms and give the site a personal, narrative dimension. Hradisko Burberk: Hillfort and archaeological site

The oval hillfort lies on a small spur of land in Ždánský les. It is fortified by a low embankment and a double ditch on the southern side.
