Pištín combines an engaging village culture with a cycling route that introduces a historic landscape. The “Kolem Pištína na Blata” route starts and ends in Pištín, is easy, and is intended primarily for families with children and seniors.

The route presents Zbudovská Blata as a historic landscape featuring folk architecture, rural Baroque, wetlands and ponds. It thus combines cycling with regional architectural and landscape history. The circular route connects the village centre with the surrounding landscape: by bicycle, historic architectural forms as well as wetlands and ponds can be experienced in a single excursion.

Church, Farmsteads and Historic Village Details

A prominent landmark is the Church of St. Lawrence. Its tower is 36 metres high and has been fitted with a clock since 1846, which is wound by hand every day. The church is surrounded by a walled cemetery; its complex also includes a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk.

Several buildings add to Pištín’s historic character. The enclosed farmstead No. 1 dates from around 1700. It stands at the western end of the northern side of the village square, below the church on the road to Pašice. The farmhouse at No. 5 has an openwork curved-gable wing, a storage chamber dated 1863 with a simple triangular gable, and a segmental-arched gateway. The listed Neo-Gothic brick wayside shrine “Boží muka” bears the date 1866. The location of farmstead No. 1 and the design of No. 5 reveal two aspects of historic village architecture: its position on the village square and characteristic architectural elements.

The house and inn No. 35, “Na Dolánku,” also reflects former transport and supply functions: until 1863, it served as a post office and a relay station for stagecoaches.

Beekeeping and Events in Pištín

The Včelařská Exposition is located in the attic of the Spolkový dům in Pištín. On display are historic beekeeping tools and equipment, including items from 1900, straw skeps and historic honey extractors. For visitors interested in crafts, agriculture and local traditions, the exhibition offers a distinct cultural focus.
