Nová Hlína – Cycle Paths, Ponds and Historic Bridges

Cycling between Třeboň, Nová Hlína and Stará Hlína

The Okolo Třeboně educational cycle trail runs through the village square of Nová Hlína. From there, it follows the blue-marked route through the forest to the Chapel of St. Vitus. Historic flood bridges near Stará Hlína

There are two historic stone flood bridges near Stará Hlína. The two structures were built by the Schwarzenbergs in 1781 and 1799 and have been listed as technical monuments of the Czech Republic since 1958. Today, the historic flood bridges are used exclusively by pedestrians and cyclists, no longer by normal road traffic.

One of the bridges has five arches. It was repaired after the 2002 floods and reopened to the public in 2004. The bridges thus combine historic architecture with a clearly described present-day use by pedestrians and cyclists. The local history also goes further back: in 1827, approximately 15 farmsteads were recorded in Nová Hlína in the imprint of the stable cadastre.
