The Orlík Reservoir forms part of the nearby recreational area around Kučeř, while the local ponds in Kučeř are used for swimming. This provides different options for planning the day: exercise on routes through the forest-rich surroundings, time at the ponds or an excursion to the recreational area around the reservoir. The ponds and the reservoir do not serve the same purpose: the ponds are associated with swimming, while the reservoir forms part of a wider recreational area. Cycling and hiking

Kučeř offers several route connections for active days by bike. A cycling route runs through Kučeř. Cycling Route No. 31 Měděnec–Plzeň–Tábor runs via Varvažov, Zvíkovské Podhradí, Kučeř, Květov, Branice, Veselíčko, Bernartice, Stádlec and the Stádlecký Bridge. Route 1155 Orlík nad Vltavou–Kučeř connects Cycling Route No. 31 with Cycling Route No. 1154 and runs near two natural monuments and a Celtic hillfort. A yellow-marked hiking trail also runs through Kučeř. When preparing your plans, you can first decide which type of activity you prefer: the routes through and across Kučeř are intended for cycling, while the yellow-marked trail is intended for hiking. You can then decide whether the connection to other cycling routes, the sequence of several places or the proximity to natural and cultural points of interest should be the focus. This structure keeps the selection clear and separates the different ways of exploring the surroundings.

Archaeology and small cultural monuments

Obrovy hroby is an important archaeological site in Kučeř. It lies 170 metres north-northwest of the junction of the Kučeř–Sobědraž and Jichovice–Velká roads. Obrovy hroby is a square fortified site of the Viereckschanze type, with an earth rampart and a ditch. Its form therefore consists of both the square layout and the two earth structures. Another historical trace can be found in the stone cross in Kučeř: it dates from 1761 and is considered a valuable example of small-scale vernacular architecture. Unlike the fortified site, the cross represents a single stone monument. The Kučeřský jalovec also adds a distinctive feature. It is a protected individual memorial tree, first designated on 18 April 2000, and complements the cultural monuments with a natural point of interest.
