Hutě: Quartz Site, Lužnice River and Cycling Routes
Hutě combines unusual geology with experiences along the Lužnice.
Quartz on Kameník
The Hutě u Bechyně geological site is located approximately 0.5 km northeast of Hutě. An abandoned open-pit mine is situated there on the 419 m high Kameník. The quartz vein is particularly remarkable: it is no more than 2.2 m thick, while the quartz crystals in the vein grow up to 20 cm long.
Rocks and Trails along the Lužnice
The U Mamuta climbing area is located on the left bank of the Lužnice between the Větrovy area and the municipality of Hutě. It is a granite climbing area with walls and overhangs. From Hutě, the climbing area can be reached on foot upstream in about 500 m. U Mamuta is also located on the Lužnice route from Bechyně towards Hutě.
A red-marked hiking trail runs along the Lužnice. It leaves the riverbank as soon as the settlement of Hutě becomes visible on the opposite bank. For orientation, the visual relationship between the trail, river and settlement is particularly important. Those planning a stay in Hutě will therefore find a route here that views the village from the perspective of the opposite riverbank.
Several Cycling Options through Hutě
Several routes through Hutě are also suitable for bicycles. The cycling excursion “Heroes of a Bygone Era – from Bechyně to Famous Personalities” is divided into two independent circular routes. The complete 45/35 km cycling route leads through Černýšovice and Hutě and then returns to Bechyně via a bridge over the Lužnice. The same group of routes also includes a shortened variant via Černýšovice and Hutě to Bechyně. Most sections of this 45/35 km route run on roads with little traffic.
In addition, a 30 km cycling route leads through Bechyně, Hutě and Černýšovice. From Bechyně, cycling route 1136 runs through Hutě and Černýšovice. Another option is the route “To Černice for Nature and Golf”, which also passes through Hutě. The routes therefore differ not only in length but also in their respective connections between Bechyně, Hutě, Černýšovice and other destinations. For your planning, you can therefore choose between an independent circular ride, a shortened variant and a shorter route with a different course.
