Lisov Between History and Landscapes

Lisov combines a historic village centre with a landscape shaped by waterways, a valley and traditional paths. Here, you can combine cultural history, cycling and rural impressions without reducing Lisov to a single attraction. The village offers different rhythms for a day trip: sometimes the past takes centre stage, while at other times it is the Pohodová trasa or the surroundings of Červený Mlýn.

Archaeological Village Centre and Chapel

Lisov is an early medieval settlement with a manor house documented as early as 1243. The village centre is recorded as an archaeological area with a chronological focus ranging from the Middle Ages to the modern era. Archaeological finds have been documented there or can be expected on the basis of well-founded assumptions. For your exploration, the historical perspective therefore extends beyond a single date and encompasses several periods in the centre of Lisov.

The brick chapel in Lisov was built in 1912 as a small church with a bell tower. In the past, services were occasionally held there. This former use is part of the village’s history and adds to the picture of a village whose cultural traces come from different periods.

Cycling on the Pohodová trasa

For a more active excursion, there is the Pohodová trasa cycling route. It passes through Hradec, Lisov and Stod; 65 per cent runs on asphalt, while 35 per cent follows forest and field paths. The route is intended for less experienced cyclists who want to take a short and uncomplicated bike trip. The combination of surfaces makes the short excursion varied while also giving you a clear idea of the route character you can expect.

Červený Mlýn and the Valley

On the outskirts of Lisov lies Ranč Červený Mlýn in a spacious valley through which the Touškovský potok flows. At the ranch, individually arranged riding training with Luděk Čiba and participation in seminars can be organised. This is a specific addition to exploring the village and landscape: those interested in horses will find a clearly defined offer here, with participation arranged individually. The valley setting and equestrian theme create a different emphasis from the archaeological village centre.

The Stará cesta is also part of the area’s historical context. Before the end of the 19th century, it was the road from Hradec to Lisov. It ran along the Touškovský potok and a now-flooded quarry to the Červený Mlýn settlement. The historic millrace leading to Červený Mlýn was still recognisable, but gradually became overgrown. These traces tell of former connections in the area around the village, but should not be understood as a description of a current route or accessibility.
