Dolce between Valley and Hills

Dolce lies at an elevation of 452 metres in a deep valley between the hills of Hůrka and Jindřín and the Dolecký les forest. Southwest of the village, the distinctive Jindřín rises to 535 metres. This gives Dolce a clear landscape setting for a trip in which you can combine local history, paths through the surrounding area and special natural sites.

Landscape and history meet at Jindřín. Visible remains of a former fortified hilltop settlement can still be found there today. The site at Jindřín has been protected as a historic monument since 3 May 1958. Jindřín is therefore not only a distinctive elevation southwest of Dolce, but also a place of archaeological and historical importance.

Chapel and Memorial Sites in Dolce

The present Chapel of Saint Anthony of Padua was built at the end of 1930 and fully completed in 1934. Another memorial site is the war memorial in Dolce. It commemorates 14 men from the village who did not return from the First World War. 26 June 1921 was set as the date for delivery of the monument.

Those interested in historical details will therefore find different forms of remembrance in Dolce: the chapel with its two construction years, the war memorial and the fortified hilltop settlement at Jindřín. These features add depth to a stay without requiring you to commit to a single excursion destination.

Exploring on Foot or by Bicycle

The Čertovo břemeno nature trail is an approximately 15-kilometre circular route that you can complete by bicycle or on foot. The approximate length provides useful guidance for planning your day, while the choice between cycling and walking leaves room for different ways of exploring. One station on the nature trail is the Chapel of Saint Hubertus. It is the fifth and the closest station to the municipality of Dolce, and is located in the Dolcko forest.

Fishing at Dolcký rybník

Since 2017, Dolcký rybník has served as a sport fishing pond for catching trophy fish and offers up to 50 fishing spots. Fishing at the pond follows the “catch and release” principle. Dolcký rybník is therefore a separate point of interest for visitors who would like to include time by the water alongside historical discoveries and outdoor activities.

A Local Date at Anežčin Dvůr

Ing. Douděra sells his products directly at Anežčin Dvůr in Dolce every first Saturday of the month from 3 to 5 p.m. This regular monthly date adds a local connection to the landscape and cultural themes.
