Babylon is a place in Czechia whose character is particularly clearly defined by water, forest and history. In Babylon, Babylonský rybník is a natural outdoor swimming area with a sandy bottom. The bathing area has a shallow entry into the water. The town's history also has distinctive milestones. Babylon originated as a logging settlement on Pařezov Pond, which was later renamed Babylonský. Babylon was first mentioned in writing in 1587 and was added to the official list of spa towns in 1928. More than three centuries lie between the first written mention and its inclusion in the spa town register. This development from a settlement site into a spa town is one of the distinctive features that you can find during a stay not only in the landscape but also in the town's history.

Hiking Trails and an Unusual Wobble Stone

Čertův kámen is located at the edge of the forest in Babylon. The Wobble Stone weighs around 40 tonnes and is approximately 4 metres long. Visitors can make Čertův kámen wobble again. This gives a walk to this natural monument a vivid, directly experiential destination that may also spark the curiosity of younger explorers.

The Čertova educational trail runs through the surroundings of Babylon and is 11 km long. From Babylon, Sokolova vyhlídka can also be reached via the green-marked hiking trail. The 11 km length provides a clear benchmark for comparing the route with your own time frame. For orientation when planning an active day, there is therefore both an educational trail and a specifically marked route to a viewpoint, without requiring you to change your starting point beyond the town limits.

Another connection in the area is the paved shared path that leads from Babylon along the road to Domažlice to Újezd-Havlovice railway station. It is suitable for pedestrians, cyclists, inline skaters and cross-country skiers. The different types of use also make the connection interesting for an excursion involving various forms of activity. Festival and Park with Activities for Different Age Groups

The Léto Babylon cultural festival takes place every year on the first Saturday of the summer holidays. The Lázeňský krajinářský park has an accessible educational trail, a children's playground and a nature maze.
