Between the Nature Trail and the Castle Ruins

Městečko Trnávka offers several clearly distinct points of interest for a trip: a treasure hunt with a fixed starting point, the Cimburk Castle Ruins on a wooded hill above the town, registered cultural monuments and a long-distance cycle route. The treasure hunt leads from a fixed starting point to a destination; the cycle route, by contrast, runs through Jimramov, Svojanov, Křenov and Městečko Trnávka.

A Treasure Hunt with a Fixed Starting Point

The treasure hunt “In the Footsteps of the White Lady” begins at the starting station of the nature trail in Městečko Trnávka. The nature trail starts with an introductory information board, thereby marking the beginning of the route. The tour to the destination is approximately 1.7 kilometres long and takes around two hours. The return journey must be planned separately, so the stated length and duration do not represent the entire route back to the starting point.

The treasure hunt is considered moderately challenging. It follows paved paths uphill and downhill and can be completed year-round. For planning your day, both the approximate time frame to the destination and the additional return journey are therefore relevant. Those looking for a route with a playful element and clear guidance will find an independent activity here; the information about the path conditions and elevation profile should be taken into account.

Cultural Monuments in and Above Městečko Trnávka

The Church of Saint James the Greater is protected as a registered cultural monument. Its current appearance was created through a renovation in 1752.

The plague column in Městečko Trnávka is also listed in the Czech register of cultural monuments. It is a Baroque sandstone column from 1731 that was restored between 2013 and 2016. The statue of Saint John of Nepomuk dates from the first third of the 19th century and was declared a cultural monument in 1994. It stands in a small park in the southeast of Městečko Trnávka below the castle ruins.

The Cimburk Castle Ruins are located near Starý Cimburk; the area is designated as an archaeological site. The stone Cimburk Castle was founded around 1300 by Ctibor z Lipnice. Its location on a wooded hill above Městečko Trnávka and the designated archaeological site give the place an additional clear historical and landscape connection.

Nature, Cycle Route and Orientation for Arrival

The Bohdalov–Hartinkov Nature Park is also part of the cadastral area of Městečko Trnávka. This means that the view extends beyond the individual architectural and hiking destinations to the landscape within the cadastral area of Městečko Trnávka. Long-distance Cycle Route 104 is also relevant for cyclists. It runs along the Jimramov–Svojanov–Křenov–Městečko Trnávka route.
