Zámrsk – Castle, Archive and Rzy Bird Park

A particular connection with nature is provided by Rzy Bird Park, which is located mostly within the territories of the municipalities of Dobříkov and Zámrsk. The castle itself is normally not open to the public. However, concerts are regularly held in its square courtyard lined with arcades. This creates a clear distinction for visitors between the castle complex, which is not regularly open, and the public events held in the courtyard.

The castle’s architectural history is also visible: remains of the original fortress, which was converted into a castle at the beginning of the 17th century, have been preserved in the east wing. The former palm house, built in 1843, also stands in Zámecký park Zámrsk. The park is fenced but accessible year-round. This combination of preserved structures, parkland and a venue makes the castle grounds a culturally and historically distinctive part of Zámrsk, without suggesting that the castle interior is regularly open for viewing.

Church, organ and technical monuments

The Church of Saint Martin in Zámrsk is a Rococo church dating from 1782. It houses an organ from 1910 that is in relatively good condition. The church is also a venue for classical music concerts. Zámrsk’s historical and technical cultural monuments also include the former distillery and starch factory, which was originally a mill, with its millrace on the Loučná, as well as the railway station building.
