Culture and Regular Events

The Roškotovo divadlo is a notable cultural landmark. The theater was declared a cultural monument of the Czechoslovak Socialist Republic in 1979. Kocianovo Ústí is also a good option for a stay with a focus on music. The music festival frames and complements the Kocian Violin Competition; its program is aimed at the general public. Another aspect of the local tradition is represented by Staročeská pouť, a traditional August festival in Ústí nad Orlicí. Views from Andrlův chlum

The observation tower on Andrlův chlum creates a striking landscape accent. Its viewing platform is located at a height of 34.6 meters, while the steel structure is 49.6 meters high overall. The total structure therefore rises 15 meters above the platform height. In good weather, the view extends to the Orlické hory, the Krkonoše, Králický Sněžník and the ridges of the Svitavské pahorkatiny.

Two Circular Routes with Different Characteristics

For an exploration centered on storytelling, the “Příběhy naší hranice” educational trail starts at the main railway station. The approximately 10-kilometer circular route is complemented by the Skryté příběhy mobile app, which provides interactive game elements. The tourist city walk through Ústí nad Orlicí has a different focus: it includes 12 stations along a route of approximately 13 kilometers. The city walk is therefore about three kilometers longer than the educational trail. The tourist city walk can begin at Mírové náměstí or at the KČT signpost near the bus station. Thus, the educational trail starts at a fixed point, while the city walk offers two possible starting points.

Water and Climbing Experiences in Cakle

The Cakle active tourism area is located near the Tichá Orlice River. There, visitors can travel along the Tichá Orlice in a rented canoe. Cakle also has a climbing wall with a Via Ferrata. This means that a water-based experience and a vertical activity are available side by side at this location.

Museum and Activities for the Whole Family

The town museum in Ústí nad Orlicí offers exhibitions, displays, guided tours with commentary and events for the whole family. This allows a visit to be structured differently from a tour through the town or a day in Cakle. When choosing accommodation, the deciding factor is therefore above all personal preference: Some travelers focus their search more on culture and events, while others want to combine a circular route, views and active activities.
