The “In the Footsteps of the Celts” exhibition is located on the first floor of Nasavrky Château. The château itself is a preserved historic building and serves as a venue for the town’s cultural life. The exhibition uses interactive elements and displays original archaeological finds from sites in the Pardubice Region. A guided tour lasts approximately 45 to 60 minutes and is held in Czech. If you plan this visit, the language is therefore one of the specific conditions of your tour.

The Celtic theme remains present outside the château as well. At the Celtic open-air museum, you can borrow designated equipment for historical, sporting and recreational activities. The Keltská stezka Železnými horami trail leads through sites of former Celtic settlement in the surroundings of Hradiště and Nasavrky. In addition to the exhibition, this provides further opportunities to engage with the region’s earlier settlement history.

Kaštanka and Protected Nature

Kaštanka Park is freely accessible to the public. Around one hundred sweet chestnut trees grow in Kaštanka, and two educational trails run along the park. The combination of the tree park and educational trails gives the visit a clear focus on nature and education. It therefore differs from the exhibition in the château and from the Keltská stezka, whose connection to earlier settlement is historically rooted. The V Koutech Nature Reserve lies on the western edge of Nasavrky. The swamp calla grows there. This specific natural area complements the cultural and historical themes with a protected landscape featuring a distinctive plant species, without losing sight of Nasavrky’s connection to the area.

Historic Places, Mead and a Festival

The Church of St. Giles is also part of the town’s history. It was originally built in the Gothic style towards the end of the 13th century. At Hostinec U Dubového Kelta, you can try local mead, which is described as a traditional drink of the Celts. “Kaštanobraní” is a sweet chestnut festival held in Kaštanka; the tenth edition was announced for 2025.
