Discover Veselíčko: the château park, chapels and Hraběnčina educational trail

Veselíčko reveals its character especially where activity, landscape and local history come together. Hraběnčina educational trail can be explored on foot, by bicycle and in winter on cross-country skis. This opens up different possibilities for planning your trip, experiencing the landscape actively and shaping your stay differently depending on the season.

Château and reconstructed château park

An important cultural landmark is the château of Veselíčko. In 1769, it acquired its late Baroque appearance through the work of the Fulnek builder Thalherr. A visit is possible by prior arrangement; anyone wishing to include the château in their plans should therefore arrange the visit in advance. The four-hectare château park and garden of Veselíčko were reconstructed in 2010–2011. Thus, alongside the château itself, the documented development and design of the park also form part of the townscape, which you can take into account during your research.

Chapels with different stories

The religious monuments each provide their own distinctive features. The Chapel of St John of Nepomuk in Vicinov contains a statue of Saint John of Nepomuk. The chapel is probably the oldest of the three chapels in Veselíčko – the reference to its age is explicitly only a supposition. The Chapel of St Francis of Paola contains rare frescoes, although they are deteriorating. Their particular value therefore lies in the surviving wall paintings, while their state of preservation is also part of the history of this place.

Another special feature is the Chapel of the Virgin Mary on Zámecký vrch. It is located by the former schoolyard. Marian devotions are still held there in May. For visitors interested in local religious traditions, this place therefore combines a specific location with an event in the annual calendar that has continued to the present day.

Tři rybníky, Vlčince and the gorge near Lukavec

Tři rybníky is a stop on Hraběnčina educational trail. At the same time, the Tři rybníky locality in Veselíčko is one of the places visited frequently. Those who choose the educational trail as their main focus can therefore note this name both as a stop along the route and as an independent landscape reference.

Another trace leads into archaeology: the Vlčince site in Veselíčko is associated with the Bell Beaker culture. The site complements the visible buildings and landscape features with an indication of a much older past. Another landscape feature is the gorge by the Lukavec reservoir, which is approximately 100 metres long. This approximate measurement gives a concrete impression of this distinctive section of terrain without claiming that it extends farther.
