Horní Dusnice – Trails, Chapels and Mountains

Horní Dusnice combines trails through forests and meadows with views of mountain ridges and cultural and historical sites in the nearby and wider surroundings. The Podkrkonoší route passes through Horní Dušnice. Two further route sections complement the landscape: one runs mainly through forest, while the other passes through meadows and forests. After an approximately 2.7 km section through meadows and forests, it leads to the Stromkovice junction, which is designated as the Horní Dušnice bus stop. The two sections differ not only in their approximate length but also in their landscape: the first runs mainly through forest, while the second passes through meadows and forests. This gives you two short trail options with different landscapes when planning your day.

Views and Mountain Landscape

The Podkrkonoší route passes through Horní Dušnice. The section through the village offers views of the ridges of the Giant Mountains above the Jizera Valley. Unlike the forest- and meadow-rich sections, it opens up views of the mountain landscape above the valley. For a hike offering changing impressions, this section connects the village with a sweeping panorama.

Šeřín, Lysá hora, Zadní Plech and Zadní Žalý are located around Horní Dušnice, each classified as a mountain. The chapels also add their own cultural accent. The Stromkovická Chapel was built in the 1860s. A new wooden chapel was erected in 2007 within three months by the KRNAP administration and the Zdravé Krkonoše civic association. The two chapels therefore date from clearly different periods: one was built in the 1860s, while the other was erected as a wooden chapel in 2007.
