Water and Nature around Doubí
Doubský rybník is a 2.1-hectare body of water in the cadastral area of Doubí u Liberce. Fly fishing, float fishing, bottom fishing and spinning are permitted at Doubský rybník. Thus, in addition to the body of water itself, its specific use as a fishing spot is also a central feature.
The Vesecké údolí nature trail around Doubí is approximately 2 km long and has seven information boards. It passes through important wetlands and introduces rare or endangered plant and animal species. Its manageable length makes the trail a clearly defined nature section, while the boards direct attention to habitats and to the animal and plant life. The combination of wetlands and plant and animal species gives the walk a natural-history focus. The mountains around Doubí include Ještěd, Rozsocha, Ostrý and Brdo.
History and a Destination for Families
Mlýnský rybník was formerly called Teichmühle because a mill once stood at this location on the Luční potok; it has been documented since the 18th century. The wider regional surroundings of Doubí also include Valdštejn Church and the “Kaple Nejsvětější Trojice” church.
A playground is located on Vackova Street in Doubí, with a climbable airplane play structure, an in-ground trampoline, a carousel and spring riders. Climbing, jumping and other forms of physical activity are combined in one place. The playground can be included as a separate section in a day’s itinerary or mark an active break between nature and cultural destinations. Its facilities expand the range of possible activities with a playful element, creating a distinct accent alongside the nature trail and historical destinations.
