The Katova Cesta circular trail is five kilometres long and includes six stops. At each stop, QR codes provide access to audio stories in Czech or German about the executioner Johann Christoph Fischer. The trail thus combines walking with a clearly defined historical theme. The six stops give the five-kilometre route a recognisable sequence, allowing walking and historical storytelling to unfold step by step. Another testament to the past is the late Gothic Nevděk Castle. It stands on Zámecký vrch above the Střela south of the town of Žlutice.

VladaÅ™ and Protected Landscape

In the vicinity of Žlutice, the Vladař Nature Reserve encompasses the summit and its slopes. The protected area has existed since 1970, covers more than 227 hectares and preserves oak-hornbeam forests, ravine and scree forests, as well as dry grasslands. Vladař can be reached via a 5 km red-marked hiking trail or an 8.3 km yellow-marked hiking trail. The two stated lengths provide practical guidance when you want to divide your days between exploring the town and hiking.
