Kocbere brings together marked trails, rural history and distinctive reminders of several centuries. Around Kocbeře and Janská Studánka, you will find opportunities for active days, cultural discoveries and trip planning that brings different interests together. The local attractions do not belong on a single list of sights: the hiking trail, cycling routes, chapels, historic buildings and landscape each tell their own part of the story of this Czech village.

Hiking and Cycling around Kocbeře

A yellow-marked hiking trail leads from Janská Studánka via Nové Kocbeře, Liščí hora and Bělunka to Harcov. The route is 11 km long and offers a practical way to link several places together on one hike. For comparing different day-trip plans, there are also two cycling routes: Cycling Route No. 4087 from Stanovice to Pilníkov runs through the cadastral area of Kocbeře, is easy and is 29 km long. Cycling Route No. 4117 leads from Heřmanice to Kocbeře and on to U Partyzána, is moderately difficult and is 22 km long. The different lengths and difficulty ratings help you compare the options for planning your day more clearly, without treating the routes as equivalent. The three options therefore differ not only in length, but also in type and course. The hiking trail follows a sequence of several places, while the cycling routes each have their own starting and ending points. When planning, you can therefore deliberately weigh the scope and difficulty of the active day separately.

Chapels and Memorial Sites

In the center of Kocbeře stands the Chapel of Saint Florian. Near Janská Studánka, a chapel dedicated to Saint John the Baptist was built in 1671. Janská Studánka became a much-visited pilgrimage site. At the edge of the forest in the direction of Janská Studánka, there is also a military cemetery for the victims of 1866. Another historical reminder has been preserved in Kocbeře itself: a stone with an engraved stag from 1726 commemorates a count's hunt from the time of Count Špork.

Village History and Landscape

The rural homestead Kocbeře 115 is a village house with valuable gable detailing, as well as preserved brick-and-stone stables and cellars. In the north of Kocbeře lies a former textile factory complex. Today, a factory producing plastic components occupies the site; at the same time, the complex has preserved its historic appearance. The former textile factory complex and its chimney are among the landmarks of the village of Kocbeře.

The landscape can also be recognized through a specific natural feature: a stream flows through Kocbeře, rising in forest bogs near Janská Studánka and on a wooded ridge north of the municipality. The Municipality of Kocbeře acquired the Janská Studánka complex in October 2024 to preserve this unique place, with its rich history, for future generations. In this way, trails, natural surroundings and local history come together when planning a trip.
