Discover Všestary

Všestary combines cycling with tangible traces of local history. The “Do Prahy na kole” cycling route runs from Mnichovice through Všestary, Světice and Říčany to the Prague districts of Kolovraty and Královice. In the village, the smírčí kámen, the Kříž u hřbitova and the monument to the fallen of the First World War complement this active side with specific sites of remembrance. This makes it clear that an outing, cultural exploration and a local event taking place at a fixed time can be combined.

Cycling through Všestary

The third section of the “Do Prahy na kole” cycling route runs through the cadastral areas of Všestary and Strančice and is 2,733 m long in total. The route is marked with yellow tourist signs, a bicycle symbol and route number 0026. Rest areas, information boards and “ladovské” signposts help with orientation along the way.

The cycling route is also suitable for ordinary outings and can be used for bicycle travel between municipalities. The 2,733 m section through Všestary and Strančice can be planned as a separate part of the connection; the route continues as far as the Prague districts of Kolovraty and Královice. Yellow tourist signs, a bicycle symbol, route number 0026, rest areas, information boards and “ladovské” signposts provide several points of orientation. This allows you to focus a bike tour on the section in the village or include other places along the route.

Local history at specific sites

The smírčí kámen in Všestary is a red sandstone slab with an engraved cross and spear. Today, the stone is built into the left corner of the fire station’s plinth. It is associated with a killing that is said to have taken place in 1585. The combination of material, depiction and traditional association makes the stone a particularly tangible historical detail of the village.

The monument to the fallen of the First World War on Všestary village square bears seventeen names. The Kříž u hřbitova stands by the cemetery chapel; its first written mention dates from 1908. At this cross, five roads branched off towards Všestary, Světice, Tehov, Otice and Všechromy. The cemetery chapel also includes a post-mortem examination room and a mortuary.

An event at a specific time

At Masopust 2026, visitors could join a public, family-friendly procession through several streets of the municipality on 7 February. This date complements the permanently visible local and route details with a specific example of a local event.
