Tišice on the Elbe: Nature, Nature Trail and History

Tišice is located in the Polabská nížina lowland on the right bank of the Elbe. This means the town combines riverside landscapes with traces of cultural history and a natural area that can be explored in different ways. The Putování tišickou krajinou nature trail is nearly seven kilometres long and follows the banks of the Elbe. Its nearly seven-kilometre length provides a clear framework for planning your route. Thirteen information boards accompany the trail, which ends with a quiz. The length, the boards and the playful finale give your exploration a clear structure without limiting you to simply visiting individual points of interest.

The Písčina u Tišic protected area begins before the railway crossing on the road from Tišice to Kozly. From there, it extends for approximately 0.5 kilometres along the railway towards Mlékojedy. This approximate figure is intended for orientation: it describes a section along the railway, not an exact circular route or a fixed walking time.

Summer by the Water and Traces of the Past

A lake lies on the site of a former sand quarry in Tišice and is used for swimming in summer. This adds a seasonal opportunity to enjoy the water to the walks along the Elbe and the nature trail. The town's history also reaches far back: archaeological finds in Tišice date back to around 5000 BC. The historical timeline of the area therefore extends far beyond the medieval church in Kozly.

The Church of All Saints in Kozly

The Church of All Saints in Kozly was built in 1352 in the Early Gothic style. It is also a state-protected monument. Kozly therefore offers an Early Gothic church building alongside the archaeological traces from Tišice and the river landscape.
