Archevita: Experience Prehistory through Multimedia

Archevita is a multimedia archaeological exhibition that immerses visitors in prehistory. On display are true-to-scale reconstructions of prehistoric dwellings, archaeological finds and reconstructed burial sites. The exhibition therefore does not focus solely on individual artefacts, but also makes the architectural and ritual contexts of prehistory visible.

The exhibition is complemented by holographic projections and video mapping. Interactive educational content is also available at information kiosks. This combination of reconstructions, projections and digital stations provides a distinctive focus for your stay in Roztoky and sets Archevita apart from the historically oriented exhibitions in Tiché údolí.

Nature Trails and a Self-Guided Tour

The Roztocký háj – Tiché údolí nature trail runs through the nature reserves. It therefore leads into a landscape that is also connected with the historical development of Tiché údolí. The Levý Hradec nature trail is 800 metres long and has eight stations. The two offerings emphasise different aspects: one nature trail is defined by its route through the nature reserves, while the other is characterised by its clearly structured length and eight stations.

Another way to explore the town is offered by the Paměť města project in Roztoky. QR codes, historical photographs and a mobile app with audio contributions support a self-guided tour. This allows you to take in historical information not only in an exhibition, but also through an independently arranged exploration. The digital elements complement the visible traces of the town with photographs and audio contributions.

Tiché údolí and Villa Culture

Roztocké Tiché údolí is considered, chronologically, the oldest place of this type of villa resort. Villas for summer stays were built there as early as after 1851. The history of Tiché údolí is therefore not only a story of individual buildings, but also a history of its use as a summer retreat.

The Život v letovisku exhibition presents contemporary and historical furnishings, home accessories, tableware and examples of historical fashion. These objects often come from the villas of Roztoky. Your visit thus offers a glimpse into the furnishings and everyday life associated with the historic villa resort, without limiting the exhibition to architecture alone.

Ateliér Zdenky Braunerové

The Ateliér Zdenky Braunerové exhibition provides another cultural focus. It displays restored doors, shutters and wooden beamed ceilings in their original colours and surface finishes. It also includes a collection of more than seventy paintings by Zdenka Braunerová.

For planning your visit, the special access rule is important: From April to October, the Ateliér Zdenky Braunerové exhibition is accessible exclusively by guided tour, from Wednesday to Sunday. This clearly distinguishes it from the self-guided options around Paměť města and the nature trails.
