Březová-Oleško: Nature, Trails and Special Discoveries
V hladomoří Natural Area
The V hladomoří area includes Březová, Oleško and Vrané nad Vltavou. Its protected features include continental deciduous scrub, Tilio-Acerion forests on slopes, in scree and ravines, Pannonian rocky grasslands, chasmophytic vegetation of siliceous rocky slopes, and oak-hornbeam forests of the Galio-Carpinetum association. The occurrence of the great crested newt (Triturus cristatus) was also recorded in the cadastral area of Oleško u Zvole. Various areas of focus can therefore be chosen for nature observation. Forest communities, scrub, rocky grasslands and rocky slopes draw attention to different forms of vegetation. The great crested newt adds a zoological focus to nature observation.
Hiking Trails through Varied Landscapes
A red hiking trail connects the railway station in Vrané nad Vltavou with the railway station in Davle. In Oleško, it runs along Vltavská Street and the Nad Tunelem path. Another route leads from Davle via Libřice and Oleško to Vrané nad Vltavou: It initially passes through a deciduous forest and then mainly through a holiday settlement in Oleško. When planning, you can therefore distinguish between an explicitly designated hiking trail and a route with different landscape sections.
Viewpoint, Garden and Chapel
Vyhlídka Orlík offers views of the town of Davle, a historic railway bridge and the Vltava River. Oleško is also home to a restored chapel. Japonská zahrada Oleško was founded by the Wiesner couple, and construction began in 1994. In addition to nature trails, viewpoints, gardens and local history are therefore available as independent themes for discovery.
An Activity for the Journey
Olešská formanská výzva 2026 includes a nature trail with tasks in the field and a diary for children. The route can be completed at your own pace, either running or walking. In addition, the local nature conservation group is preparing another edition. The diary complements the field tasks with an ongoing element that children can use themselves during the nature trail. For families wishing to combine an outdoor discovery experience with managing their own time, this provides a specifically described activity format.
Historical Traces in Oleško
A historic coach road once passed through Oleško and provided a connection from the Vltava via Oleško. Its historical status is important: this refers to a former connection, not to a current road or transport route. During your stay, you can place this historical connection alongside the restored chapel and Japonská zahrada Oleško.
The Right Location for Planning Your Trip
When choosing your place to stay in Březová-Oleško, you can first determine your preferred focus. The trails and natural features described are suitable for planning around hiking and landscape observation, while the chapel, garden, viewpoint and historic coach road open up additional cultural and historical themes.
