Milý: Nature, Hiking Trails and Historic Village Culture

Milý combines a remarkable natural setting with historical traces right in the village. The Milská stráň Nature Reserve lies to the northeast in the surrounding area and protects heat-loving plant and animal communities on marly, so-called white slopes. There are two marked trails directly connected with the village. A blue-marked hiking trail passes through Milý, while a yellow-marked hiking trail ends here. Cyclists will also find a specific route in Milý. The 17.5-kilometre route “Borovice – Stožár GSM” runs via Pozdeň, Hřešice, Srbeč, Bdín and Milý, then returns via Srbeč to Pozdeň. It passes a BTS transmission mast and then descends to Milý. The road between Srbeč and Hříškov also runs through Milý. Historical Details in the Village Centre

The centre of Milý is home to historic farmsteads dating from around the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries. Many of these farmsteads have retained ensembles of agricultural buildings. Together, they form a historic focal point in the village centre and make the traditional farm complexes an important part of the village structure.

The village square is home to the Baroque Chapel of Saint Michael, dating from 1736. It was restored from 1968 to 1972 and is registered as a protected cultural monument. Notable Landmarks

Vošková is home to a telecommunications mast that was the first transmission mast installed in the Czech Republic to be disguised as an artificial tree. There is also a transmission mast near Milý, in Džbán Nature Park on the slope of Vošková Hill; from there, views open out over Slánsko and Kladensko. A journey can therefore bring together two different landmarks: an unusually designed mast on Vošková and a viewpoint in the nature-rich surroundings.
