Cycling route and local orientation

The Greenway Praha–Vídeň gives Křížkový Újezdec a clear connection to international cycling. The road network is also important for orientation in the area: the only main connection leads northeast towards Radějovice and Olešky, then continues east through nearby Petříkov to Velké Popovice. No railway line or siding runs through or near Křížkový Újezdec; there is also no airfield there. The road layout places the village in relation to Radějovice, Olešky, Petříkov, and Velké Popovice. The absence of rail and air connections provides a clear framework for spatial orientation.

Forest, elevations, and waterways

The 483 m-high summit in Okrouhlík Forest is the highest point in the surrounding area. From there, the expansive view extends towards the Sázava Valley and in the direction of Benešovsko and Neveklovsko. The waterways also give the surroundings a clear profile: the Kamenický (Čakovický) Stream rises in Křížkový Újezdec. The Botič rises north of Křížkový Újezdec in Okrouhlík Forest. The surroundings therefore offer both a high point with far-reaching views and clearly defined sources and streams for landscape orientation. The high point and the sources represent different landscape impressions: the summit opens up distant views, while the streams mark the course of the water in the surrounding area.

History and local memorial sites

Křížkový Újezdec was first documented on 26 November 1349. The historic settlement landscape also includes Křížkový Újezdec and Čenětice, which were founded as agricultural serf villages with small farmsteads and buildings arranged around village squares along a through road. A monument has stood on the hill near the hamlet of Na Křížkách since 1931. It bears a dedication to the Hussite people. Local community
