Castle History and Castle Park

It is recorded that in 1405 Karel Haras z Bosyně was the owner of the estate and part of the noble stronghold that stood on the site of today’s Domousnice Castle. The present-day castle was created around 1730 by rebuilding an older manor house. Another historical trace leads to 1911: Mr Kittl, the father of the singer Ema Destinnová, chose Domousnice Castle for her summer stay.

The castle park also contributes to the cultural character of the village. Its layout is attributed to Jan Petr Rašín. The castle park includes trees with memorial status as well as statues of a woman in antique dress, a bearded man and the Virgin Mary.
