Discover Řepov: Cycling and History

Řepov brings together landscapes, cycling and history within a compact thematic area. The Klenice flows through the municipality, a cycling path project focuses on sustainable connections in the surrounding area, and the nature trail and archaeological site lead to the locality’s historical themes. This allows you to begin your stay with physical activity and supplement it with insights into early settlement and the development of agriculture. The Klenice and the cycling path project

The Klenice rises southeast of Řepov and flows through the municipality. The “Cyklolávka přes Klenici” project included approximately 0.94 km of new cycling path, a new rest area, benches and waste bins, as well as a lifting bridge over the stream. The project was aimed at sustainable transport between Mladá Boleslav, including Škoda Auto a.s., and the suburban municipalities of Řepov, Kolomuty, Plaza, Březno and Židněves. This thematic area therefore connects the river landscape, cycling and regional mobility. For a bicycle trip, crossing the Klenice is a separate aspect alongside the route itself.

The municipality’s sporting connection

The “Řepovská padesátka” has been held since 1994 as the “Memoriál bratra Hodbodě”. Its route starts and finishes in Řepov, so the locality is both the starting point and the finish of the event. More than 100 athletes often take part. Alongside the cycling path project, this gives Řepov a clear sporting connection. The event’s continuity since 1994 also gives the sporting theme its own local tradition.

Nature trail about early agriculture

The “Naučná stezka Řepovem a okolím – putování za prvními zemědělci” nature trail provides information about the early settlement of the area of today’s Řepov municipality, as well as the beginnings and development of agriculture in various historical periods. It has five stations with information boards. In terms of content, it connects the area’s early settlement with the beginnings and development of agriculture across several periods. The nature trail is therefore an independent cultural highlight for you alongside the sporting activities. Its focus is local history and agriculture.

Zákoutí archaeological site

Five burial mounds are registered at the Zákoutí - mohylník archaeological site. The five burial mounds complement the nature trail with a specific archaeological focus. They broaden the perspective on early settlement with another historical theme and give a stay in Řepov a cultural connection alongside cycling and sport. Zákoutí - mohylník thus represents a clearly defined archaeological focus.
