Stařeč can be explored through its sacred architectural history, local history and a specific cycling tour.

Church, Rectory and Local History

The Church of Saint James the Elder in Stařeč, protected as a cultural monument, was originally late Romanesque and was rebuilt in the Baroque style from 1734 to 1754.

Another important building is the late Baroque rectory. It has a mansard roof, a vaulted gateway and an enclosed front garden, and is protected as a historic monument. Preserved details include original doors, Baroque wrought-iron grilles, a historic cross with a wooden corpus and parts of the original furnishings. The interior of the rectory also retains authentic elements, including tiled stoves, floors and stucco decoration. The combination of architectural details on the façade and preserved furnishings inside makes the rectory an independent testament to the local history. A restored chapel also stands in the woods above the Stařeč railway station. Alongside the church, it is another sacred site in Stařeč.

The history of House U Sanderů No. 62 is a turbulent one. The Sander family moved to Stařeč before 1910; all members of the family died in a concentration camp. Today, the house accommodates a health centre and the U Sandrů pastry shop. The history of the house thus extends from the period before 1910 to its present-day use by the health centre and pastry shop. At the same address, the memory of the family history and a present-day use therefore exist side by side.

Family Event and RC Racing Track

The traditional Pohádková cesta in Stařeč is a children's event. At the 2026 edition, children could take part in competitions and games as well as other entertaining activities. The programme also included face painting for children and a bouncy castle. Competitions and games were held alongside the face painting and bouncy castle, combining to form a varied children's programme.

A special feature is the RC racing track of RC Autoklub Stařeč at Pikharta 562 in Stařeč. The track is completely unpaved and designed as an off-road RC track. RC stands for radio-controlled models. On 15 and 16 June 2024, the Czech Championship for RC buggy models took place there. The championship lasted two days and focused on RC buggy models. The address, the unpaved track surface and the focus on RC buggies identify the racing venue as a specific location for radio-controlled model motorsport.

Stařeč as Part of a Cycling Tour

The cycling tour “Trasa č. 2: Ke hradu Sádek” leads from Mastník through Stařeč to Kracovice. The tour connects Mastník, Stařeč and Kracovice in this order; Stařeč lies between the other two places. Its destination is indicated in the tour name as Sádek Castle.
