Lesůňky between history and wetland

Lesůňky brings together several facets within a small area: historical traces, a cultural site, a wetland with viewpoints and opportunities for active days with children. The history of the settlement is particularly vivid. Lesůňky was probably established in the 16th century on the site of a subdivided farm laid out by people from Lesonice. The former working life has also been documented: in 1846, Lesůňky had a mill with a sawmill.

Clearly visible earthwork remains have survived from the former fortification. The core of the complex was almost square and measured approximately 20 × 19 metres. Its historical character is also linked to a present-day use: the site of the former fortification is offered as a historic venue for wedding ceremonies. Lesůňky is therefore not only about structural remains, but also about a place where history and special occasions come together.

Chapel and cultural site

Another notable landmark is the Chapel of Saint Francis of Assisi. It probably dates from 1885 and complements the settlement’s historical monuments with a sacred building. The indoor spaces at the cultural site can accommodate up to 100 people.

As an example of a past event, films were shown three times at the cultural site during the school holidays. This information is particularly useful for orientation because it illustrates the site’s cultural use beyond its historical features.

Wetland, viewpoint and cycling route

A path leads through the wetland, allowing you to observe the surroundings up close. A wooden observation tower also offers an elevated view across the wetland. The small observation tower in Lesůňky also serves as a resting place for cyclists. Anyone wishing to explore the area by bicycle will also find a direct connection to the regional trail network: the Jihlava–Třebíč–Raabs cycling route passes through Lesůňky.

Children can enjoy a large playground with climbing equipment in Lesůňky. There is also a multi-purpose court with an artificial surface for tennis and nohejbal. In bad weather, children can use the renovated cultural centre for various sports activities as well as billiards, table tennis and darts. This makes it possible to experience nature observation, exercise and a weather-independent stay as different parts of a visit.

If you are looking for accommodation in Lesůňky, the choice of this locality offers an environment shaped above all by culture and landscape. You can choose between historical discoveries, the wetland, the cycling route passing through the village and various local activities, depending on your interests.
