Příštpo is a starting point for nature and cultural discoveries along the Rokytná. This is where Rokytná Nature Park begins, a 27 km² wooded protected valley with rocks and floodplain meadows. A designated route through the park leads via Příštpo.

Rokytná Valley and Special Natural Features

The Yellow Water-lily occurs in the meander of the Rokytná above Příštpo. Numerous endangered plant and animal species live along the Rokytná near Příštpo. With a little luck, you can observe European crayfish and kingfishers in the river area. The Jedlový les a údolí Rokytné area also has a remarkable flora: among other species, the endangered snowdrop Galanthus nivalis occurs there.

These natural features give a stay different possible focuses. You can follow the course of the river and the designated paths or take individual landscape features as an opportunity for a quieter exploration. European crayfish and kingfishers can only be observed with a little luck.

Hiking and Cycling Around Příštpo

A 15.5 km route through Rokytná Nature Park leads from Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou via Královec, Příštpo and Pulkovský Mlýn to Biskupice. Příštpo is listed on this route at kilometre 5. In addition, a yellow-marked hiking trail runs through the nature park and can also be used by mountain bike; the route described leads via Příštpo.

For longer cycling trips, the 32 km “Z Jaroměřic do údolí Rokytné” loop is documented. It leads via Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou, Příštpo, Rozkoš, Biskupice-Pulkov, Radkovice and Myslibořice back to Jaroměřice nad Rokytnou. Cycling route 5263 also runs through the built-up area of Příštpo. A 10 km cycling route 5263 leads from Jevišovice via Bukovina and Kyničky; Příštpo is listed as an alternative. The route passes through heavily forested areas to the Rokytná Valley.

Historical Traces and Places in the Area

Příštpo is already documented in sources from 1190 under the name form Preschep. The village also has a memorial to those who fell in 1945. In 1821, the farm in Příštpo was described as the seat of the instigators of an uprising against compulsory labour in part of the Znojmo estate. This historical trace should be understood as a traditional designation and not as a statement about present-day use.

Justýnka lies south of the built-up area of Příštpo and is an approximately 10 m high rock associated with a legend from the time of the Thirty Years’ War. Bednářův mlýn also stands south of the built-up area of Příštpo. Příštpo’s sights also include a chapel. In this way, nature routes, the landscape and history can be combined without limiting the place to just one type of visit.

You can use these differences as a guide when choosing accommodation: Příštpo is worth including in your search if you would like to consider paths through the Rokytná Valley, documented cycling routes and historical points of interest together. Other places you can include in your search are Lipník, Přešovice, Police, Dolní Lažany, Rapotice, Petrůvky, Popůvky and Svatoslav.
